--Story--
Tonight was the beginning. The start of the three tests to get Daughter of Twilight registered to breed. Carrie was pacing nervously inside her room thinking about the tests and how they would be run. Everyone who had ran a cat in the SPC test had told her that they were a breeze, and that you would end up meeting cool people while showing your cat. Carrie wasn’t so sure about it though. Dread was bubbling up inside of her and drowning out any logical thoughts. Come the time she would be tough as nails and ready to do her job. Carrie was a straightforward person; she liked to get the job done without fuss. She had a need to do well and that need often caused her a great amount of stress.
The sun was setting as Carrie loaded Twilight into the large car Dreaming of Flames had. They trip to the beach was a tedious one and Carrie was feeling ill. The salt air and breeze increased her anxiousness as she let the cat out of the car and tied her to one of the door handles. She groomed the cat from head to toe before putting on her show halter and leading her to the check in booth.
Carrie walked the cat in circles as they waited for their names to be called. A jolt of panic went through Carrie when their names were called, but as she strode forward to begin the test confidence exploded inside her. Carrie reached where the examiner stood and reported that she and her cat were here. Just as Carrie led the cat away to begin the exam a horrendous bang slammed into her jostling her bones and making the ground quiver. Carrie jumped and Twilight had sprung behind her handler letting out loud, unhappy yowls. Carrie looked toward the ocean just as the second firework exploded into the sky. Twilight continued to howl and Carrie patted her and stroked the cat until she calmed down. As they begin the test the cat was calmer, but still a bit jittery. She kept trying to walk back to Carrie as soon as Carrie had squared her stance and walked to stand a ways in front of her. Carrie repositioned her for the eighth time before the examiner told her to continue to the next part of the test. Carrie hoped all had gone well.
